Lakers expect Kobe to play in the season opener

Kobe Bryant didn't practice with the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday because of the sprained right wrist that kept him out of Friday night's final exhibition game against the Sacramento Kings in Las Vegas. Laker officials have stated that Kobe Bryant's status is day to day right now. Laker coach Phil Jackson expects Kobe to play Tuesday in the season opener against the Houston Rockets despite an injury he suffered in an exhibition game against the Utah Jazz recently.
