Today Lakers coach Phil Jackson agreed to a two year contract extension worth somewhere around 24 million dollars. With that business taken care of, it was time to take care of some other business today - the Denver Nuggets. You can never know what to expect from this Laker team. At times they look great and at other times they look, well, let's just say, not so good. Unfortunately they came out starting tonights game in the not so good mode. With around 9 minutes left in the second quarter the Nuggets were holding a 38-21 lead, good for a 17 point advantage. Once again the boo birds were out at the Staples Center. Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum heard the boo birds and responded to it by helping the Lakers take a 68-57 lead after a 13-0 run to start the 3rd quarter and from there on, this game was over as the Lakers had a superb second half and ended up blowing out Denver 127-99. It was so over that Kobe Bryant didn't even have to play in the 4th quarter. Bryant finished the game with 24 points, six rebounds and 7 assist. Bynum finished the game with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Sasha Vujacic had a career game by finishing with a career high 22 points. Sasha's career game didn't come easy as Denver forward Carmelo Anthony was ejected from the game with 6:18 to play when he grabbed Vujacic by the throat as Vujacic cut toward the basket. Anthony scored 23 points in the game. Allen Iverson finished the game with 21 points for Denver. Tonight the Lakers head over to Utah to face the Jazz. Fisher (who spent last season with Utah) will be back to the city were he shared some great memories and some not so great memories. While there last year Fisher found out that his little daughter had a rare form of eye cancer. He also had a memorable playoff game last year when he hit a overtime game winning shot after spending the day in New York for his daughters surgery. "Even though I was only there a year, I think it's still going to be pretty emotional going back because the city, the fans, the team, left impressions on me and my family that I think will last a lifetime, to be honest," Fisher said.
