Celtics 110- Lakers 91 - Boston crushes the Lakers

Wow! In Los Angeles you could sense some of that old Laker-Celtic rivalry heating up. The Lakers who have had nothing but strong performances lately got to battle the best team in the NBA this season, the Boston Celtics.

The Lakers came out in old school 'short' shorts and Celtic coach Doc Rivers didn't like the shorts and told Kobe that their generation back then had better bodies because they looked horrible in those uniforms. Kobe didn't like them either and said he felt violated and naked out there.

During the game the Lakers tried to hang on during the first half and were still in the game at the half down by 8, 53-45. Seemed like whenever the Lakers went on a little run though that the Celtics would go on a bigger run and kept their lead over 10 points most of the game. In the 3rd the Lakers got as close as they wqould get by making it a 6 point game but then Paul Pierce went crazy and lead the Celtic charge to make this a blow out game just like when they played in Boston. Pierce led the Celtics with 33 points, Garnett had 22 and Allen had 19.

Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 22 but was only 6-25 for the game. That was one of the main reasons the Lakers got slaugtered but not the only one. Bynum also had a terrible game gtting just 8 points and 2 rebounds in 22 minutes of action. Odom, had had 14 points thought he was on a football field for a minute late in the game when he tackled Ray Allen. This when Allen had just got a technical moments earlier. Why the tackle? Who knows , but Allen must have said something you would think. look out for a suspension.

In this game the Lakers learned that they must still improve to be in the class with the NBA's elite. Yes, the Lakers are one of the better teams in the league but there is only a few teams who could claim to be the elite and Boston of course is one of them. The way I see it, it was a good wake up call to continue to work hard and improving.
