Once upon a time it was the Lakers who had 'Magic'. Of course, that was in the 80's and briefly in the 90's. Now and days though it is the city of Orlando that have the magic as the Orlando Magic is off to a 15-4 start this season matching an all time franchise record best start after beating the Lakers at Staples. Things did not look to good for Orlando coming into Los Angeles as they had lost the previous 10 in L.A. At first it looked like the Lakers would continue that winning streak against Orlando as they took a 30-24 lead after the first quarter. Kobe Bryant scored 19in the first for the Lakers. The Magic had an offensive spurt in the second quarter racking up 39 points to take a 63-55 halftime lead. At the end of three the Lakers cut the Magic lead to only two points 77-75. Luke Walton's layup in the 4th put Los Angeles ahead 91-89 with 5 and a half minutes left. Teammate Jordan Farmar then forced Keith Bogans into a turnover and took off the other way on a fast break, feeding Odom for a slam dunk. But the basket was waived off because of a charging call against Farmar, who slammed into Keyon Dooling a split-second after dishing off."That was a big momentum change," Jackson said. "We got a steal and Jordy went down the court and drew a charge, instead of just moving the ball ahead and doing the right things on the 2-on-1 break. It turned into a four-point play because they took a basket away from us, and they came down and scored. Then Turkoglu hit a 3 to give them the lead, and it spiraled down from there." Kobe finished with 28 points for the Lakers and Lamar Odom had a good game with 19 points and 17 rebounds. Rashard Lewis led the Magic with 18 points and Dwight Howard had 17.
