San Antonio 103 - Lakers 91

The Lakers seemed up to the challenge in tonight's game against the San Antonio Spurs; especially in the first half of the game. The Lakers led the Spurs 54-45 at halftime and looked like they would pick up an impressive road victory. The Lakers controlled the boards with a 27-17 edge and outscored San Antonio 32-8.

The second half was a whole different story, especially the third quarter. The Spurs opened up the third quarter with a 14-0 run. The game was tied at 61 with 4:18 left in the third but then the Spurs went on a 15-5 run to end the quarter. In the fourth the Lakers got pretty close again, coming with in 6 points but that is as close as they got.

At the end of the game the stats still showed the Lakers with a rebounding edge 48-35 and points in the paint 44-30 but the final points is what matters and the Lakers will have to look for revenge when the Spurs visit the Staples Center on April 13.

Turnovers may have been the main problem in this game for the Lakers as they committed 22 turnovers. Also in the third quarter the Spurs outscored the Lakers 31-12.

Kobe led the Lakers with 29 points but had almost two handfuls of the Lakers turnovers, nine to be exact.

Tim Duncan led San Antonio with 28 points.
