The Lakers got to host the lowly heat tonight at Staples Center. They did what was expected by beating the Heat 106-88. These days it would seem real embarrassing for any decent team to lose to the Heat who are 10-45 this season and have lost 27 of their last 29 games. Remember, they were the NBA champs just a few years ago! Amazing! The Lakers controlled the game from the beginning and never looked back. Dwayne Wade tried to get the Heat back in it toward the end of the game when he got fouled by Kobe Bryant while hitting a three pointer. He then converted the four point play but Miami was still down 95-86. Lamar Odom put the game to rest by hitting a jumper and a three pointer in the final minute and a half of the game.
Jordan Farmer led the Lakers in scoring with a new career high of 24 points. Kobe Bryant had 21. Four Lakers had 10 or more rebounds in the game, the first time since 1989. Odom, Gasol and Walton all had 11 rebounds, Turiaf topped then by one by grabbing 12 boards. The Lakers have now won 10 games in a row. Just 23 more to go to catch that 1971-1972 Laker team NBA record 33 game winning streak, OK, I'm dreaming again.
Dwayne Wade led the Heat with 18 points in the game shooting only 6-17 from the field.
