Lakers 107 - Nuggets 101 * Lakers sweep Nuggets as Kobe Bryant dominates the fourth quarter.

It's Over! I called it from the beginning! Sweep! Sweep! Sweep! The best thing about the Lakers game 4 107-101 victory is that the Lakers can now take a a well deserved rest until opening up the second round of the playoffs against either the Houston Rockets or the Utah Jazz. Goota give the Denver Nuggets credit for this game though. There was a lot of media frenzy about how the Nuggets just gave up in game 3 and how they just might do it in game 4 and call it a season instead of heading back to L.A. for game 5. That was not the case though as the Nuggets took the Lakers down to the wire. The Lakers started the game out strong and ended the first quarter with a 32-23 lead and later in the game would lead by double digits. The Nuggets wouldn't fold though and made a terrific comeback in the fourth quarter but too bad for them that every time they were making a run, Kobe Bryant was too. Kobe Bryant lead the team with 31 points in the game and scored 14 points in the final 5 1/2 minutes of the game. Kobe is really showing everyone why he deserves that MVP award this season more than anyone else! Pau Gasol had 21 points in the game, 18 in the first half. Again, the Lakers played as a team, even Mbenga got into the action with some impressive offensive and defensive plays. For the Nuggets, well, no one could say they didn't try in this game. It was the only game that they really gave the Lakers some competition. Alot of people thought the Nuggets might just throw the towel in but that wasn't the case. Iverson had 22 points and Anthony had 21. J.R Smith led the Nuggets with 26 points off of the bench but made the mistake of jawing at Kobe Bryant alot, especially in the fourth quarter. Maybe he's the one who got Kobe going in the final minutes of the game. J.R. Smith might have to learn that he is just not good enough to jaw at NBA stars. Now, Iverson is someone who could trash talk Kobe, one superstar to another but J.R. Smith, c'mon. Seems to me that J.r. Smith really thinks he is better than he is. He was out there taking shots at the end like he was trying to go one on one with Kobe at the end. Big mistake! It was like as if Rony Turiaf was trash talking Allen Iverson, just foolish. This Nuggets team has talent but they just simply do not play as a team. To me, the Nuggets are a worthless team except for Allen Iverson who I will always give respect to. With the Lakers sweep it made the Lakers 7-0 against the Nuggets this season including the regular season. Up next, it will be the Utah Jazz. The Rockets may push that series to 6 game but they will not come back to win the series. Utah will not be as easy as Denver but should not be a problem for the Lakers. The Lakers will beat them but there will be no sweep in that series. More on that series when it becomes official.
