Lakers 101 - Spurs 71 * Lakers lead 2 - 0 in Western Conference Finals

The Lakers continued where they left off in game 1 by dominating the San Antonio Spurs in game 2 of the Western Conforence Finals. The Lakers didn't just beat the Spurs but blew the defending NBA champions out and now hold a 2-0 series lead. The Spurs were in the game still at the half as they trailed the Lakers 46-37 but by the time the fourth and final period of the game started the lakers had a 75-57 lead. Of course no lead is a safe lead as we saw in game 1 but the Lakers made sure that their big lead would stay. They actually increased their lead and finished the game plus 30 in their 101 - 97 win.

Kobe Bryant didn't wait until the second half of the game to come alive this time, Kobe led the Lakers with 22 points. Lamar Odom had a great game by scoring 20 points and getting 12 rebounds. The Lakers used the whole team to capitalize on the Spurs, even Ariza played for the first time in over 4 months as he scored 2 points in garbage time. The Lakers bench did what they are so good at, Farmar went 5-7 and had 14 points off the bench.

The Spurs will have to really get things together if they are to compete with the Lakers. The Spurs will have to win both of their home games, games 3 and 4 or else their season is basically over.

Parker had 13 points for the Spurs, Duncan had 12 points and 16 rebounds. Not great games for either one of San Antonio's superstars. Ginobli, after having a terrible game 1 did it again by scoring only 7 points on 2-8 shooting.

I've been hearing all of this stuff about the Spurs losing because they are old. This is no surprise. That will be the words when the Spurs go down in 5 games / my prediction.

Next stop / San Antonio
