Lakers 120 - Jazz 110 * Lakers take a comfortable 2-0 series leat back to Utah

The Lakers continued their dominance in the NBA playoffs by remaining the only unbeaten team in the playoffs so far this year. The Lakers beat the Utah Jazz 120-110 at Staples Center in game 2 of the best of 7 series and now hold a comfortable 2-0 series lead. The series now moves to Utah for game 3 on Friday and then game 4 on Sunday. If the Jazz are going to make this a series they have got to do it on Friday, It's a due or die game for them. They are already in a situation were they have to win 4 out of 5 games from the Lakers and can anyone see that happening?

Kobe Bryant was presented with the MVP trophy before the game started by NBA commissioner David Stern. Kobe said "I'm at at loss for words, I don't know what to say," as the crowd chanted MVP. Kobe continued to say "I love you guys so much. We're going to play until June. Let's get this party started." That he did as he scored 34 points had 8 rebounds and 6 assist to lead the Lakers to their game 2 victory. All the Lakers looked good in the game tonight. Derick Fisher had 22 points, Pau Gasol had 20 points, Lamar Odom had 19 points and 16 rebounds and Vujacic came off the bench and did what he normally does.

The Jazz were in trouble from the beginning of this game as their star player Carlos Boozer was in early foul trouble and had to do a lot of sitting on the bench. Boozer only managed to get 10 points in this game. If Utah is going to win a game in this series they will need a different strategy on defense. They sent the Lakers to the line 43 times while they only got to the line 16 times. They once again out rebounded the Lakers 41-37 but that isn't winning them games here. We will see what the Jazz have in game 3 on their home floor where they hold the NBA's best regular season home record at 37-4, though one of those losses was to the Lakers. If they don't come out with their very best in that game consider this series over!
