Can thing get any better than this! The Lakers are now 14-1 after beating up on the Toronto Raptors this evening and beating them 112-99.
Kobe Bryant once again got to rest in the fourth quarter as the second unit blew the game wide open. Pau Gasol had a team high 24 points and 9 rebounds. Bryant had 23 points and a season high 7 assist. Both Bryant and Gasol only had to play 30 minutes each in the game. Andrew Bynum, who only had to play 29 minute in the game chipped in 18 point to go along with his 10 rebounds.
One key to the Lakers controlling this game was controlling Chris Bosh.
"We tried to corral Bosh a little bit" Bryant said.
Bosh only had 12 points on 4-13 shooting in the game.
"I know that good teams are not going to let me just get off offensively," said Bosh, who came in averaging a career-best 27.7 points. "They did a great job of trapping and their rotations were really good. I didn't get too many good shots all night and I made some costly turnovers."
The Raptor must really hate facing the Lakers. Since the teams existence they are 5-20 against the Lakers and have never won a season series. The Raptors were also the team that Kobe Bryant made some history against with his famous 81 point game performance a few years back.
Speaking of history, Bryant needs only 15 more points to reach 22,000 points for his career. A feat we are sure he will reach in the next game.
