Kobe Bryant made the trip to New Orleans to participate in the All Star Game despite his dislocated pinkie. Kobe, of course was voted as the Western starting shooting guard. Bryant started the game but only played 3 minutes in the game and did not attempt a shot. West coach Byron Scott understood the situation and let Kobe make his appearance, a few runs up and down the court and then let him enjoy the rest of the game from the bench as a spectator. The West could have probably uses Bryant as the East reserve shooting guard Ray Allen got three point happy and was one of the main factors in the East 134-128 win. Lebron James won MVP honors by getting 27 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assist. Glad Kobe rested, we need him this week when the Lakers play the Suns!
