Lakers 117 - Timberwolves 92

The Lakers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 117-92 to complete the most successful 9 game road trip with an impressive 7-2 record, the best 9 game road trip ever. The Lakers pretty much just toyed with the Wolves and were in control the whole game. Bryant and Gasol got some much needed rest in the fourth quarter as the Lakers were up 99-68 at the end of the third quarter. Kobe Bryant had 29 points in the game and Pau Gasol had 19 points and 9 rebounds. Lamar Odom had a terrific game with a triple double as he scored 10 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and had 10 assist. This is the player that Odom can be!

Heading into the All Star Break the Lakers are 35-17, good for the third best record in the West. Only Phoenix 37-16 and New Orleans 36-15 have better records.

The Lakers will now finally be able to play in Los Angeles as they host the Atlanta Hawks Tuesday at Staples Center before heading out for another road trip, this time only 3 games though which starts in Phoenix on Wednesday. That game may be the debut of Shaquille O'Neal for the Suns, what a nice way to debut against his former team that he won three championship rings with.
