What a heart break! The Lakers lost a game that they should have won tonight to the Charlotte Bobcats 108-95. The loss has dropped the Lakers into a three way tie for the second seed in the Western Conference with the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets, all three teams with a 49-23 record. New Orleans leads the West with a 49-21 record.
The Bobcats seemed to control the tempo of the game through out mostly all of the game with the Lakers playing catch up most of the time. The Lakers finally got the Staples Center fans believing again when they scored the first 10 points to start the fourth quarter and were then trailing by only four points 87-81 with just under eight minutes left in the game. The Bobcats though responded and went on a run of their own and before you knew it the Lakers were down 100-86 with 3:40 left in the game. Matt Carroll then got a 4 point play and Kobe Bryant wasn't too happy about it. Kobe said something to the referee and before you knew it Kobe got a technical foul. Seconds later Kobe got another technical and was kicked out of the game. It just was not a good game for the Lakers and the Bobcats clearly were the better team in this game. The Bobcats are not a very good team but I must say sadly that they deserved to win this game.
Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 27 points and Lamar Odom had 18 points. Pau Gasol is still recuperating and did not play again.
The Bobcats were led by Jason Richardson who had 34 points and 10 rebounds. Matt Carroll had 18 points.
