We escaped! We escaped from losing three games in a row as the Lakers beat the Washington Wizards 126-120 in OT to remain one game back in the Western Conference standings and pick up win number 50 of the season. Life sure has gotten hard without our two star big man gone. The game was a three points shooting dual for both teams, good thing we have the machine to compete. It was the first time in history since the three point line came into play before the 1979-1980 season that two teams both shot over 50% from the three point line and shot under 50% from the floor in the same game.
Kobe Bryant's team mates got more involved in this game than the last. Sure Kobe led the team with 26 points but Vujacic had 20 points, Walton had 19 points, Radmanovic had 18 points and Derick Fisher had 17 points. With Bynum and Gasol missing in action this is what the Lakers need to do to win to win these ball games. It might have been a sloppy win but hey, the Lakers will take it. They really need these wins right now against these not so good teams. Actually Wahington is a playoff team in the weak East, they are now 38-35 so they are not Memphis or anything like that but are one of those teams that the Lakers should not be struggling against. Yes, I believe that, even with this squad (Gasol & Bynum out).
Stevenson and Young led the Wizards, each scoring 27 points a piece.
