I just can't beleive it! Before the NBA season started I would have never thought that the Lakers would be the NBA Western Conference champs and you know you didn't either. With all the Kobe Bryant trade demands before the season even started and then Dr. Buss actually trying to work out a deal! Man oh man! The only team is see that kind keep our Lakers from an NBA championship this season is the Boston Celtics. If the Lakers and Celtics meet up in the NBA Finals that sure would be something wouldn't it. I think the Lakers could beat them but I also think that they are the only team that can keep us Laker fans from another downtown parade.
The Lakers ended the season with another thumping 124-101, this time to the Sacramento Kings, who will be in the NBA draft lottery. Mr. MVP Kobe Bryant, that's right I'm calling it already and if you disagree you are blind, scored 20 points despite going only 3-13 from the field, he made 13 - 14 free throws. Pau Gasol led the team with 22 points, going 9 - 11 from the field. Odom had 15 points and 10 rebounds, Radmanovic had 14 points, Farmer had 13 and Turiaf had 10. Yep! It was another game were all the Lakers got involved. In the past I remember when it was Just Kobe having to score, Odom helping out and then you basically were confused and wondered if anybody else could score. All of that has changed and the Lakers are one of the, if not the deepest team in the NBA. This is why they can beat Boston if they meet in the NBA Finals. Sure, Boston has Garnett, so what we have Bryant. Sure, Boston has Peirce, so what we have Gasol. Sure, Boston has Allen, so what we have Odom. It evens out there! Lucky for anyone else we don't have Bynum! The bench - we win again. I'm jumping ahead and wishing for these two teams to meet in the finals but facts are facts and the Lakers are just simply the best team in the NBA.
Kobe Bryant put his name once again in the Laker record books during the Sacramento game by becoming the third Laker to ever have 4000 assist. He joins Magic Johnson and Jerry West.
Oh yeah, did I mention the Lakers beat Sacramento tonight.
