Lakers remain undefeated as they beat Rockets 111-82.

The Lakers used a powerful fourth quarter to snuff the Houston Rockets 111-82 and they remain the only undefeated team in the Western Conference (5-0). The only other team undefeated is the Atlanta Hawks who are also (5-0).

The game didn't start out as easy as the final score would suggest. The Rockets had a 28-16 lead at the end of the first quarter. It would then become a 32-16 lead but after that Mr. Momentum was on the Lakers side as they outscored the Rockets 95-50 from that point on.

The Rockets trailed by only seven points entering the fourth quarter, but Farmar scored eight points, Gasol and Lamar Odom added four each, and the Lakers shot 9-for-10 during a 22-10 run to start the period, giving them a 94-75 lead. They wound up outscoring Houston 39-17 in the final 12 minutes.

Bryant led the Lakers with 23 points in the game but Pau Gasol also had 20 points to go along with 15 rebounds. Jordan Farmar came off the bench and shot 6-9 to get 16 points.

The Rockets were led by Aaron Brooks who came off of the bench to score 20 points. Yao Ming, Scola and Landry each had 12 points. Ming didn't have a great game but one might consider it great compared to Tracy McGrady's game. In 32 minutes of play McGrady shot 1-11 and had only 3 points in the game. This coming after getting only 2 points on 0-5 shooting against the Clippers the other day. The two time scoring champion has to be glad to be leaving the Staples Center.
